Adventuring in New York Neighborhoods: Fort George
One thing I love about New York is that the opportunity for adventuring is endless. I’ve been living in New York City for nearly three years, yet there’s still so little of the city I’ve actually seen. There are so many cool bars and restaurants in SoHo, Lower East Side (LES), and Williamsburg that it’s easy to forget how many other areas there are to see in New York. Well, I say enough of that! The time for adventuring has commenced. I’ve decided to explore all New York City has to offer by spending a day sightseeing each of the neighborhoods and discovering their unique personalities and offerings. I couldn’t…
Live to Adventure and Adventure to Live
Over the past few years, I’ve slowly discovered my true passion in life. You know, the thing that motivates you to keep chugging along. It’s the soul of the goal you‘re constantly striving toward. It turns out, my passion is adventuring and my goal is to adventure in as much of the world as possible. Prior to moving to New York, three years ago, I had only left the United States once and that was on a visit to Jamaica. Since moving to New York, I’ve touched ten countries and three different continents. That’s just internationally. Domestically I’ve visited Vermont, Philadelphia, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Napa Valley,…
More Than a Resort, It’s an Experience: The Sanya Edition
“This can’t be real,” I thought when I stepped inside my room at The Sanya Edition hotel in Sanya, China.
An Italian Romance
Ten years from now, when I reminisce on my time spent in Florence, Italy, I think I’ll remember it as the most romantic day of my life. A million more romantic occurrences could happen between now and then, but there’s something about Florence – the unwavering beauty of the city – that romanticizes the memory with heavier emphasis. Granted the time I spent in Florence truly was romantic; I was there celebrating my boyfriend, Timo’s, thirtieth birthday. Even being a month removed from it, every time I think back or see a picture I’m overwhelmed by the magical feeling that can only be described as romance, my Italian Romance. The…
When in Amsterdam . . .
Amsterdam has lots to explore, but on my visit, I had about forty-eight hours to take in the city. I had a general idea of the things I wanted to see. knew I wanted to visit a museum, explore a local park, try the local cuisine, and get a true feel of the city’s tone. Unfortunately, forty-eight-hours isn’t nearly enough time to spend in Amsterdam, but that’s okay, I’ll be back. As for my first Amsterdam adventure, here were my favorite to-dos. Go For A Canal Ride One of the most striking and memorable attributes of Amsterdam is its canal system. It’s breathtaking to look out at the flowing streams…
The Secret of Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a city with a secret. I knew it the second I stepped out of the train station and into the streets. There was a feeling in the air and a certain look on the faces of the passing cyclists. I was instantly intrigued. I knew these people weren’t all vacationing like myself. These folks were locals and they looked happy. Within moments of my arrival I realized I wasn’t in Amsterdam simply to explore a new land. I was there to learn the secret of Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Way of Life Amsterdam has a lot of history. You’re reminded of it by the statues decorating the streets and…
